Ilse Lang: Fenda Chair

Fenda is a modern stackable chair designed by the Brazilian designer Ilse Lang with a screwed tubular steel structure and expanded PVC sheet seat with two thermo shaped borders held together at the back forming the seat shape by pressure. The slot between these borders allows stacking while creating space to accommodate the vertebral column or attachment of pillows of variable heights. The presented form in stainless steel, UV resistant PVC and the encouraging draining water form suggests outdoor use but this project is more about structure and was not conceived as being restricted to exteriors. Choice ofupholstery and optional coverings are feasible.
