Sander Reijgers is a Dutch artist, based in Utrecht, who creates assemblage sculptures using pieces from coloured PVC inflatable sex dolls. He customizes ordinary tracksuits and hoodies by embellishing them with parts of the dolls. In his latest work, Reijgers has created a series of objects made by cutting and sewing together pieces from the sex dolls, including soccer balls, gloves and pieces of clothing.
The works also comes with explicit titles that point out where the materials originated. Reijgers spares no parts of the doll's anatomy. The designer says, "These dolls are so ugly and vulgar that turning them into something beautiful has become a challenge for me.
The doll is a means to convey something else." Sander Reijgers definitely doesn't think his work is coarse or vulgar as people do wear his jackets.
